What challenge were you trying to address with Gadgeon Smart Systems Inc.?
We needed a strong development & engineering organization to help us scale out. We worked on a much smaller scale with them in the past & our relationship has grown as we expanded.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They are an extended engineering center for us & they provide developers, testers & network engineers to enhance our capabilities. They work on our connectivity management platform & our location-based services platform. They also help with our infrastructure & network. In terms of technologies, they help us with .NET, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra, SQL & queuing technologies.
What is the team composition?
We have a team of about 160(+) engineers on their side.
How did you come to work with Gadgeon Smart Systems Inc.?
They were engaged on a small scale when I joined my company. Our prior CEO met with their CEO, which is how the collaboration started. When I came on board we decided to significantly augment our engineering capabilities. We did a cost evaluation of a few vendors & Gadgeon Smart Systems Inc. came out on top.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $1 million-$5 million on their work since the start of the collaboration.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working in this new capacity in October 2018. The work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of their work & the resources they provide are great. They get us the right developers at the right skillset & they set up a training program to teach the team about our business & our specific implementation process.
How did Gadgeon Smart Systems Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is very good. They keep us up to date on a day-to-day basis & they do everything necessary to help us scale-up. They’re metrics-driven & they manage assignments & team members. They’re very proactive & they work within our processes. We treat them as an extension of our team, so they use all our internal tools for communication & project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re an innovative shop & we’ve worked on a couple of opportunities together in the healthcare space. They work in some interesting technologies & they do a good job. They’re the right fit for us & their CEO is constantly in touch. They’ve assigned good resources to our account & they take good care of us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would be great if they could hire faster, but that’s not always possible in this market. That’s the only recommendation I have for them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Work with them closely to set up what you want to do, then think of them as an extension of your own team. The collaboration will work better that way.
